New uterine fibroid treatment could replace surgery

Thanks to a new drug known as UA from Allergan, there may be a treatment for women with unterine fibroids that doesn’t involve surgery.

Dr. Ayman Al-Hendy, director of interdisciplinary translational research Augusta University, said of the treatment, “I am optimistic that with a new oral treatment option, fewer women will suffer in silence and leave their uterine fibroids untreated.”
