Investiture highlights Inauguration Week events

The Investiture of Dr. Brooks Keel, Augusta University’s first president, will occur at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, at the Augusta Convention Center, formerly known as the TEE Center.

The event, which will be preceded by an invitation-only luncheon at the River Room of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, is Keel’s ceremonial inauguration and marks the centerpiece of a week’s worth of activities, starting with this Sunday’s Toast to Augusta University and ending with Keel throwing out the first pitch at the Jaguar baseball team’s game against the Georgia College Bulldogs at the Forest Hills Campus.

Other events include a student ice cream social, the President’s Research Symposium, the Class of 2016 senior celebration and the dedication of the Arsenal Oak.
