Baking soda might help those with autoimmune diseases

A new study has found that baking soda might help fight to reduce the inflammation of autoimmune diseases. The study, originally published in the Journal of Immunology, shows that where healthy cells are usually attacked by mistake in those with autoimmune diseases, drinking baking soda daily could help to inform the body to go easy on the immune system.

“It’s potentially a really safe way to treat inflammatory disease,” said Dr. Paul O’Connor, the study’s co-author from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University.
