AUHealth Advantage: Physicians

Every day, you’ll find remarkable things happening in our health system. We’re home to more world-renowned physicians and extraordinary teams of experts than any other area hospital.

As an academic health center, we teach tomorrow’s health care professionals, and our mission here at Augusta University is “to lead Georgia and the nation to better health through excellence in biomedical education, discovery, patient care and service.” The health system’s proximity to the Medical College of Georgia and its faculty are integral parts of the clinical care excellence we provide to our patients.

“We have access to things that are not available in other smaller hospitals in the community, and we are able to use those technologies to help the patient get the latest and the best care possible,” said Dr. Vishal Arora of Cardiology.

Due to the constant innovations of the health care industry and as a teaching facility, MCG has to be on the cutting edge of research and technology. In turn, our physicians are challenged by this culture of continuous learning.

“The presence of students and the presence of young inquiring minds makes me better. I have to be on the cutting edge of my specialty if I’m going to teach the next generation of physicians,” said Dr. David Cearley of Orthopedics.

Partnerships, opportunities and more are brought exclusively to our patients because we are an academic health center. That is the #AUHealthAdvantage.
