Augusta hosts Jaguar XC Invitational Sept. 9

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men’s and women’s cross country teams host the ninth annual Jaguar Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 9. Augusta will race a men’s 8K and women’s 5K for the second year in a row at the Jackson Cross Country Course and Trails on the Flowing Wells Campus of Episcopal Day School.

“This weekend’s meet at the EDS Flowing Wells campus is another great opportunity for local fans to see our teams in action,” head coach Adam Ward said. “There will be some great competition coming in to help us gauge where we stand in our second meet of the season. We also hope this meet gives us a glimpse into the potential for hosting our conference championship meet, since we are scheduled to host next year in November.”

COURSE

The course is mostly grass and dirt with minor rolling terrain throughout. It will consist of approximately 2.5 loops for women and 3.5 loops for men. One full outer loop of the course is approximately 2,200m. Spikes are suggested, but not required. There is one wooden bridge and three small sections of asphalt. The asphalt sections will be covered by green outdoor carpet.
