The KwikBoost stations are capable of charging eight devices simultaneously, a new service for patients, families and guests.

Charging stations arrive for patients and guests

AU Health is offering another new service that puts patients and families first. The health system is deploying 37 AU Health charging stations throughout the hospitals and clinics to provide a convenient method for patients, families and guests to charge their electronic and mobile devices while they are on the health campus.

“This is a milestone in Patient- and Family-Centered Care, and we are delighted to provide this exclusive service for our guests,” said Lee Ann Liska, AU Medical Center CEO. “Thanks to our IT team, the PFCC staff, Facilities Support Services and many others who have been involved in making this happen. This is one more way we are Advancing the Power of You at AU Health.”

The first stations are being deployed this week in Professional Building 1 and the AU Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Georgia Emergency Department waiting areas. Look for these new guest charging stations in other commons areas, and be sure to alert patients and families about this service.

Also, please note these are not for employee use, but for meeting the needs of patients, families and guests. Each charging station offers the ability to charge up to eight devices simultaneously – three Apple Lightning, three micro USB and two USB-C adapters are available at each station, according to Doug Blackburn, director of Augusta University IT Services. The bright yellow AU Health-branded devices are KwikBoost Deluxe floor standing charging stations.
