March Planning and Resource Alignment Hearings open to faculty, staff and students

Augusta University will once again host the Planning and Resource Alignment Hearings this year as part of integrated planning. At the hearings, university leaders will share their colleges’ and units’ achievements and challenges and present their preliminary goals for FY 2019.

The hearings were first held in spring 2014 to align colleges’ and units’ goals with institutional priorities and resources. In spring 2016, they became open to university stakeholders to foster open and transparent communication about institutional accomplishments, challenges and priorities.

This year’s hearings will focus primarily on what can be accomplished in FY 2019 using existing resources.

“Because additional resources are not guaranteed for the year ahead, planning and prioritization are more important than ever,” said Dr. Gretchen Caughman, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. “As a growing institution, input from our colleges and units is vital to advancing our mission within our existing means.”

That said, presenters are also asked to describe their FY 2019 priorities in the event that additional resources become available. Additionally, presenters will describe how goals align with AU’s new strategic plan, Beyond Boundaries.

All hearings are open to faculty, staff and students as observers.

Hearings will be held during the afternoons of March 19, 20, and 22. The full schedule and location for when each university leader’s presentation will occur is available on the university website. The presentation template and other materials are also available.
