Commanding General of U.S. Army Cyber Command to speak at Cyber Georgia @ Augusta University

EDITOR’S NOTE: October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month.

EVENT: Lt. Gen. Paul M. Nakasone, the commanding general of the U.S. Army Cyber Command, will deliver the keynote at the fourth annual Cyber Georgia @ Augusta University. This year’s program will examine global cyber threats and discuss how to better prepare for cyberattacks in the hospital and public health arena. Former U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss will serve as the honorary host. Chambliss previously served as vice chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

Augusta University and Leidos will also hold a digital Capture the Flag challenge, which is open to military and students.

LOCATION: J. Harold Harrison, MD Education Commons, 1301 R.A. Dent Blvd.

TIME: Media are invited from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, and 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13; the Capture the Flag challenge will take place on Thursday.

OPPORTUNITIES: There will be interview, photo, and video opportunities.

RSVP: If you plan on covering this event, RSVP to Arthur Takahashi by noon on Wednesday, Oct. 11. Please, include the names of reporters and photographers with the RSVP. Due to security reasons, reporters and photographers who don’t RSVP by the deadline won’t be allowed in the event venue.
