Health care security expert to discuss cyber threat to hospitals

EVENT: As the cyber threat continues to haunt the health care industry — putting people’s private medical information at risk — health care cybersecurity has grown in importance. In a Lunch-n-Learn Series on Healthcare Security, the Augusta University Cyber Institute is bringing security expert Michael C. McNeil, who heads the global product security program for Phillips, to discuss recommendations on how to improve cybersecurity in the health care industry.

BACKGROUND: McNeil is a member of the Department of Health and Human Services Healthcare Industry Cybersecurity Task Force, and an active member of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, Medical Device Safety and Security Consortium and the National Health Information Sharing and Analysis Center.
