The Augusta Chronicle: New CEO of AUMC focusing on improving patient safety and satisfaction

New AU Medical Center CEO Lee Ann Liska has “truly hit the ground running” in her first two months and is already planning sweeping changes to improve patient safety and satisfaction, Augusta University President Brooks Keel said. Part of that will be new statewide responsibilities to improve care in the juvenile justice system and with struggling rural hospitals.

Liska had her first meeting as CEO with the hospital’s board on Oct. 26 and outlined a number of areas where she would like to see improvement, particularly in patient quality and safety.

“I’m really excited to get that started,” she said. “We’re looking at some best practices.”
