Students organize first dance marathon to support CHOG

EVENT: Jaguar Miracle, a new student-run organization at Augusta University, is holding its inaugural Dance Marathon to raise money for the not-for-profit Children’s Hospital of Georgia, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital and also part of the university’s health system. Students will physically and symbolically stand in support of CHOG by remaining on their feet during this six-hour event through dancing, games and other entertainment. Each participant has a fundraising goal to achieve, and will ask donors to support their efforts at Dance Marathon.

WHEN: 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, Oct. 28

LOCATION: Jaguar Student Activities Center Ballroom, Augusta University Summerville Campus, 2500 Walton Way

BACKGROUND: Jaguar Miracle students work with professional staff members of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and CHOG to raise awareness and funds for local sick and injured kids. Jaguar Miracle fundraises all year, creating unique opportunities for students to give and get involved. The year culminates with the Dance Marathon, which will become an annual celebration of Jaguar Miracle fundraising for CHOG. One hundred percent of everything raised directly benefits CHOG.
