Augusta University salutes student service members

Sept.22, 2016 was proclaimed Student Service Members Day in Augusta by Mayor Hardie Davis Jr. to honor the current service members and veterans who have retired or were discharged. The proclamation is for service members and veterans who are attending not only Augusta University, but other institutions of higher education in Augusta as well. Since Sept. 22 is the first day of fall and a transition of the seasons, it is representative of the transition active duty service members and veterans make from the service to the classroom.

Guest speakers included LTC Jessica Willis, Chair of the Department of Military Science; Stephanie Merrill, Chief Strategist for Public-Private Partnerships at NSA Georgia; and Jessica Wolf,  an Army ROTC Green to Gold cadet Augusta University ROTC.
