Tonight: Lyceum Series kicks off with star-spangled fun

Break out the tricorne hats and the powdered wigs – the Reduced Shakespeare Company (RSC) is bringing the Compete History of America (abridged): Election Edition to the Grover C. Maxwell Theatre at 7:30 on Tuesday, Sept. 13.

The show kicks off the university’s Lyceum Series, now in its 49th year.

Billed as “What The Daily Show might be like if it were hosted by the Marx Brothers,” the Complete History of America (abridged): Election Edition is a PG-13-rated show that provides comedic historical context for this year’s historically unimaginable election season.

The RSC has appeared at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, London’s West End and the White House.

Though many shows at the Maxwell Theatre are general admission, Lyceum events like this one are reserved: $18 for the general public, $12 for military and Augusta University alumni, and $7 for children, students, faculty and staff from Augusta University and East Georgia State College. Augusta University and East Georgia State students with a valid JagCard are admitted free.

Tickets may be purchased online or at the box office. For more information, visit the Maxwell Theatre website.
