Dr. Rawson makes #HIT100 list for Twitter activity

Dr. James Rawson, chair of Radiology and Imaging, has made the list of the Healthcare IT News #HIT100 list, which includes some of the biggest names in health information technology on Twitter. The names and Twitter handles of this year’s social media favorites are voted on by the people.

The #HIT100 lineup is the crowdsourced community – from attorneys to doctors to entrepreneurs, executives and innovators to policy makers, public health specialists and well-known personalities – who are all active on Twitter.

Rawson has been a driving force in the hospital’s innovative 15-year alliance with Philips Healthcare. He serves as a reviewer for the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute and was selected last year to chair the American College of Radiology’s new Commission on Patient- and Family-Centered Care.

@Jim_Rawson_MD is No. 78 on the list — just three spots below Andy Slavitt, the acting administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. A social media guru, Rawson was named one of the radiology’s top 5 tweeters in April 2014 by AuntMinnie.com, a go-to website for radiologists and related professionals in the medical imaging industry. He had 1,600 followers then, but now boasts 4,964.
