How to pay hospital, clinical bills in one easy trip

Patients of Augusta University Health now have a one-stop shop for all things bill-pay.

The new bill-pay office, opened on Aug. 1 in the Medical Office Building, Room 1204, is an expansion of existing Medical Associates and Medical Center billing offices located in Annex I.

Carol Howard, director of Revenue Cycle Management, said the new location provides an unprecedented level of convenience for health system patients.

“The new Customer Service location offers a great deal of convenience for our patients,” Howard said. “Patients visiting clinics can now visit the Medical Office Building without having to travel over to Annex I to speak to a representative. Many patients want to pay their bills while they’re at the MD clinic. Now they’ll be able to do that.”

Previously, the Medical Associates and Medical Center Customer Service offices were housed in separated locations within Annex I. Those offices will still be in operation, but representatives in Annex I will focus primarily on processing applications for financial assistance.

Customer service representatives at the new billing location are cross-trained to handle bill-pay questions relating to both Medical Associates and Medical Center billing. In addition, the new location features a payment kiosk that patients can use to pay bills via the health system’s payment portal, using either debit or credit cards or personal checks.

Patients may also contact the number listed on their bill (706-828-1828 or 706-721-2961 for hospital bills) or log in to Augusta University Health Patient Portal to live-chat with a customer service representative.
