The Department of Communications and the Division of Professional and Community Education will host the inaugural Augusta University Summer Theatre Camp from Monday, June 13, to Saturday, June 18.

The camp will take place on the university’s Summerville Campus and will offer students in grades 6-8 and 9-12 a chance to participate in multiple workshops and theatre games. In addition, students will also have a chance to learn valuable costuming, auditioning and acting tips from professional playwrights, actors and directors.

Afterward, campers will display what they’ve learned during a showcase performance at the Maxwell Theatre. The showcase is free and open to the public.

Registration for the inaugural Augusta University Summer Theatre Camp is open until June 12. Tuition is $225, and a cancellation fee of $50 is deducted from all refunds. All refunds must be processed prior to June 6, 2016.

All students participating in camps at Augusta University are required to provide supplemental information so that camp staff may act appropriately in the event of an emergency. All students are required to have a release form on file with the Division of Professional and Community Education office before they can participate in camp activities. Any student who does not have a release form on file will not be permitted to participate in camp activities.

Once registered, participants will receive an email with a PDF copy of the release form. The form may also be downloaded here. Please mail release forms to the below address or drop them off at the Division of Professional and Community Education administrative office.
