The Summer LEADership Camp focuses on emergent leadership topics and activities including teamwork, collaboration, communication, individual styles and group dynamics. Students participate in workshops and programs on Augusta University’s Health Sciences and Summerville campuses and are housed in University Village. Events include lectures, keynote speakers, social activities and a full day at a ropes course. The camp is interactive and based heavily upon experiential learning.

Initiated in 2014, the inaugural class consisted of 16 outstanding rising student leaders. In 2015, the cohort grew to 30. This year, Enrollment and Student Affairs expects to recruit 36 talented high school students.

After receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from camp alumni and staff, the 2016 camp has been extended one additional day and will include breakout tracks for both male and female graduating seniors. This extension to the program will allow program coordinators to focus on more population-specific leadership issues.
