Six Augusta University students to present at National Conference on Undergraduate Research

NCURBanner2015W-infoSix Augusta University undergraduate students will present their research at the 30th annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research in April. Hosted in 2016 by the University of North Carolina at Asheville, the NCUR is an annual conference dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity in all fields of study.

Chosen from more than 4,000 submissions, the following student abstracts demonstrated “unique contributions” to their relevant field of study, according to the NCUR 2016 Abstract Review Committee.

  • Delphine Baumert: “Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Nanothermometers.”
  • Holly DuPlain: “Assessment of BRET between NanoLuc and Various Fluorescent Dyes.”
  • Preston Jones: “Cloning, Purification, and Inhibition of the SUV39H2 Histone Methyl Transferase.”
  • David Meeker: “Complexation of Holmium with Tributyl Phosphate in Bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide Ionic Liquid Solutions.”
  • Kelsey Moore: “Maximally Exposed Offsite Individual Dose Assessment Methodology for NESHAP Compliance at the Savannah River Site.”
  • Staci Reiter: “Bound Women: The Expression of Womanhood in Toni Morrison’s Beloved.”

Between now and April 7, students will have the opportunity to prepare their research for formal presentation.
