Augusta University officially prohibits use, possession, storage of hoverboards on campus

As of Jan. 14, 2016, Hoverboards are officially banned from all Augusta University-owned and operated properties.

A statement released by Anthony Wagner, executive vice president for Administration and Finance and chief business officer, had this to say:

“Because of documented fire and safety advisories, Augusta University prohibits the use, possession and storage of Hoverboards or similar devices on any property owned by the University, including in all University-owned or operated buildings. Once the manufacturers have addressed the fire safety issues, we may reevaluate the University’s prohibition of these devices.”
