GPBAugustaLogo_800x600Jazz Trombone master Wycliffe Gordon is from Augusta. For our series, “Where I’m From”–a joint production of the Greater Augusta Arts Council and GPB-Augusta–Gordon spoke about the remarkable career he’s built as a musician, performer, composer and educator…from a foundation that took its form in the neighborhoods, schools and churches of Augusta. Yesterday, he told Brenda Durant about the impact of being a part of The McDonalds All American Band, Today, the conversation turns to a fateful meeting, and an innovative riff that changed the trajectory of his life forever.
